SUMMARY:Open Farm Day 2024
DESCRIPTION:Atlantic Open Farm Day will take place on Sunday\, September 15\, 2024\nin Prince Edward Island\, Nova Scotia\, Newfoundland & Labrador\, and New Brunswick.\nThe event will take place in-person and online. \nThis year’s hybrid event will allow farms to participate in the format that suits them best.\nFarm experiences may look different than previous years.\nPlease follow all guidelines set out by host farms. \nRothiemay Farms in Norton\nFamily run for over 40 years\, milking 130 dairy cows with our robotic milkers\, and 3 400 free run laying hens.\nActivities: Tours of dairy barn\, including robot tours\, visiting the calf barn and taking a peak at our flock of chickens. \nGrant’s Breeder Farm Ltd.\nGilbert & Stacy took over Grant’s Breeder Farm Ltd. in 2004 from Gilbert’s grandparents\,\nDon & Colleen Grant.\nAt that time\, it was a beef and poultry farm and has since sold off the beef\, added on dairy\,\nand expanded the poultry. They have built a feed mill and do some custom harvesting.\nWe plan on having wagon rides available weather permitting.\nCalves to be walked and fed\, along with a tour of the facilities which includes a Deleval milking robot.\nThe poultry barn will be a virtual tour because of biosecurity reasons.\nThere will be eggs for sale as well. \nCheck out all of the details at the link below for Open Farm Day 2024 \n \n
