DESCRIPTION:Something extraordinary is happening this summer on the sands of New River Beach.\nOne of Atlantic Canada’s most beloved and enduring events\,\nthe New River Beach Sand Sculpture Competition\, is back for 2026! \nFor nearly 40 years\, sand sculptors and spectators have gathered at\nNew River Beach Provincial Park to create and marvel at works of art destined\nto disappear.\nThe festival has evolved into a multi-day experience. \nWatch as world-class sand sculptors transform the shores of New River Beach\ninto an open-air gallery\, crafting masterpieces from nothing but sand and water.\nBut as the tides rise\, their creations are reclaimed by the Bay\, making each sculpture a temporary wonder. \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlso returning are the much-loved amateur competitions\,\ndrop-in workshops\, and family-friendly experiences that have defined this event for decades. \nNew this year is a Master Builder’s series with Sandsculpting Pros coming in from all over!\nEveryone from young builders to seasoned artists is invited to sculpt\, play\, and explore. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
