National anti-poverty initiative announced in Saint John
The federal minister of families, children and social development was in Saint John this morning to announce a new anti-poverty initiative.
Jean-Yves Duclos says six case studies will be done across Canada, starting with Saint John. It’ll be used to develop a new Canadian Poverty Reduction Strategy. Mayor Don Darling says the city is known nationally for poverty, and this is a top priority.
