House sales boom

The housing market in Saint John is booming.

Sales hit near record levels last month with 256 units were sold worth $42.4 million. The Telegraph-Journal reports that was more than 12% higher than the houses sold in July…and more than 50% higher than August last year.

Factors for the good numbers, according to the Saint John Real Estate Board, are continuing low mortgage rates and a better initial price when homes are put on the market.
