NB Cow Captured after Week on the Run
A New Brunswick cow who made a break for it a week ago has finally been caught and brought back home. Cattle farmer Wayne Morgan says he was gathering his cattle last weekend from a pasture on Oromocto Island near Fredericton when the tan-coloured cow broke from the herd and starting swimming away down the Saint John River. Attempts to turn the cow back with a motor boat failed but it eventually walked out of the river and onto a Lincoln area island. The 600-kilogram female cow was finally captured and returned to her stable on Friday morning.
