Naloxone

AIDS Saint John now has funding so it can distribute Naloxone to local non-profit groups.

Naloxone is used to counteract opiate druf overdoses to prevent deaths from drugs such as Fentanyl, heroin, Oxycodone or dilaudid.

The drug is not covered by the provincial government. Aids Saint John has raised enough funding to buy ten of the injection kits and will train the groups receiving them on their use. Those groups include Coverdale Women’s Shelter, the John Howard Society, Salvation Army and others.
