Excavator Remains Stuck in Covered Bridge

An excavator that crashed through a covered bridge in Quispamisis remains tangled in the deck with no firm timeline on when it will be removed. Work to stabilize the 102 year old Hammond River Number 2 bridge has been on going. The bridge has to be secured before the overweight excavator can be removed. On Friday, a pair of support beams were put in place on the embankment below but it remains unclear when the excavator will be removed or how long it will take to repair the bridge and reopen it to local traffic.
