Stormy weather

We’re in for some nasty weather as an intense low pressure system brings in tropical moisture from the south.

Environment Canada warns there could be localized flooding as this vigorous system moves through. There’s a rainfall warning in effect with 5-10mm today…20-30mm tonight and another 20-30 tomorrow.

The Telegraph-Journal reports Saint John Water will be watching the runoff from the rain closely. The supply lakes are very low and need rain to fill them up. A gentle rain over several days would be best but a deluge could cause problems with turbidity and might result in a boil order. There’s none yet…but early next week might be another matter.
