Arthur Irving on Energy East
Irving Oil chairman Arthur Irving says the proposed Energy East Pipeline is taking too long.
Irving says Alberta needs the pipeline to sell its fossil fuels and Irving wants a partnership with TransCanada to build a deepwater terminal so tankers can ship it. The pipeline project is still under consideration by federal regulators and faces opposition especially in Quebec.
Irving made the comments yesterday while announcing completion of his company’s $80 million dollar refurbishment of its Halifax Harbour Marine Terminal.
