Fishermen fight tidal turbines

Fishermen in Nova Scotia face off against the government and tidal energy companies in court today trying to stop the deployment of massive tidal test turbines in Minas Passage.

The Bay of Fundy Inshore Fishermen’s Association is asking a judge for a stay of the provncial government’s approval of the project because not enough study has been done on the effects on marine life. The provincial government and Cape Sharp Tidal are asking the application be dismissed.
