Diamond heist update

A Saint John jeweller hit by a couple of diamond thieves last week says the pair has apparently been switching fakes for real diamonds in a spree right across Canada.

Wayne Smith says the man and woman started stealing diamonds in stores in Vancouver in July and have been working their way across the country since. Smith was hit last week for a $10,000 diamond. A jewellery store in Charlottetown was hit a day or two later for $20,000 in stones.
