Hurricane Nicole

Environment Canada is tracking Hurricane Nicole.

Forecasters in Halifax say the storm will lash the Grand Banks this weekend with gale-force winds and waves.

But they say Atlantic Canada will be otherwise spared the violent storm that pounded Bermuda.

Ocean swells up to three metres are expected along the south-facing coastlines of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and up to six metres over the southern Grand Banks this weekend.
