Border guns

Prosecutors say it’s been happening about once a week since June. American retirees trying to cross the border with guns or other prohibited weapons and lying to agents about it.

The Telegraph-Journal reports Judge Alfred Brien in Saint John warned two such travellers yesterday to tell their friends back home that if they travel to another country, they should learn its laws.

Most of the gun owners are fined between $1,500 and $2,500 and lose their guns.
