NB Power wants 2% more

N-B Power has filed an application with the Energy and Utilities Board to raise electricity rates an average of 2% on April 1st of next year, with different rates for some classes.  The utility got a 1.66% rate hike which went into effect on July 1st this year. It says it needs the extra money to repay debt in advance of the significant costs associated with the future of the Mactaquac dam.
