Drug death trial adjourned
The trial of a Saint John man in connection with the drug death of a teen three years ago, got underway yesterday.
Originally charged with manslaughter, the trial of 28 year old Richard Valiquette is now for criminal negligence causing death. The Telegraph-Journal reports he’s accused of giving 17 year old Gavin Adams the hallucinogenic drug DMT that caused his death.
Adam’s parents were the first to testify about reporting their son missing. Then his body was found in a snowbank by the bus terminal parking lot the next day.
The trial was adjourned until October11th.
