Drug kingpin found guilty on rare charge

The head of a Saint John-based drug trafficing ring has been found guilty on a rare charge…instructing others to carry out drug crimes as part of a criminal organization.

Justice William Grant issued his written decision in court yesterday against 34 year old Shane Stephen Williams of Smithtown. He said Williams was head of the drug trafficing ring busted two years ago. He faces a maximum of life in prison. There’s no minimum.

The lawyers will  be back in court tomorrow to set a date for a sentencing hearing.
