Cooke Aquaculture gets millions for lice
The province’s largest aquaculture company is getting $3.2 million from Ottawa to combat sea lice. Cooke Aquaculture, based in Black’s Harbour, is also contributing almost $2 million of its own money to develop a process for removing the parasite from farmed salmon. It’s hoped the new process will provide a green alternative to using chemicals.
