Americans with guns at the border
Two more Americans have gotten first hand experience with Canadian gun laws at the border.
62 year old Roberta Tower tried to turn around at the Campobello Island end of the international bridge last week saying she no longer wanted to visit Canada…but she was told her car would still be searched. Border agents found a Glock handgun. She was fined $1,700 on top of the $2,000 civil penalty imposed by the canada Border Services Agency.
66 year old Brian George Downing of South Dakota told agents at St. Stephen he thought he had left his .357 Magnum revolver with a family member in Maryland. The judge fined him $1,200 on top of the $1,000 civil penalty.
