Affordable housing funding

No final decisions have been made yet on where almost $57 million will be spent on affordable housing.

The provincial and federal governments announced the money Friday to improve and expand access to affordable housing in the province. This is in addition to millions announced earlier for the Affordabvle Housing initiative.

Premier Brian Gallant couldn’t say how many new affordable housing units will be coming nor where. The Telegraph-Journal reports staff in the Social Development Department’s housing branch will be considering various projects in the coming weeks and months.
