Former zoo director files suit

The Cherry Brook Zoo is being sued by its former director for wrongful dismissal, defamation and breach of fiduciary duty.  Leonard Collrin says he and his wife Lynn were evicted from their home on the zoo’s property and he wasn’t paid on schedule last month.  Collrin, who’s been in the position since 1978, isn’t sure whether he’s been fired or suspended.

The Board of Trustees called in police inb July to investigate what it called financial irregularities which is still underway. The Board says it will defend itself against the suit. Collrin’s allegations have not been proven in court.
