The American League East is still the tightest pennant race in baseball. The Blue Jays lost 8-2 to the Angels. The Red Sox also lost 4-3 in 11 innings to Tampa Bay and remain tied with Toronto for first. Baltimore closed the gap to one game with a 10-8 win over Washington.  The Yankees blanked the Mariners 5-0 and are five games back.
