Oland appeal

Lawyers for Dennis Oland have filed documents with the Supreme Court of Canada now trying to make their case for their client to be granted bail, according to CBC. Oland’s lawyers are seeking to have the denial of bail by a lower court overturned while he awaits the appeal of his murder conviction.

The documents argue Oland’s conviction was a very close one and that he poses no threat to public safety. The high court will hear the appeal of the bail ruling October 31st. The New Brunswick Court of Appeal is slated to hear the murder conviction appeal October 18th.
